WHO AM I?
I am a fully qualified speech and language therapist who graduated from City University in London in 2002. Since then I have worked with children of all ages gain skills in development of their speech, language and communication. My dedication for working with children and adolescents with Autism, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD and social communication challenges has taken me all over the world where I have gained extensive experience. I have also become passionate about supporting schools and families in identifying children with social and emotional challenges using an attachment model of intervention. Many of our children who do not have a specific diagnosis but present with language and social communication difficulties still struggle to be part of a group and interact with their peers.
I have undertaken extensive additional training to develop my skills in providing children on the autistic spectrum with a framework by which to plan their lessons at school and everyday tasks. I am registered with the Royal Collage of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health Professions Council. I have undertaken numerous courses on autism, cognitive behaviour therapy, Social Thinking, Anxiety Disorders and Attachment interventions. I have recently completed a Masters in Psychology with a specialization in Mental Health.
I am currently working on my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

"I have found Amanda to be totally reliable, efficient and incredibly dedicated to her work. Amanda approaches her work with a very dynamic approach based on the child's individual needs. She also provided support to the school through training members of staff and implementing strategies. Our child enjoys each session which have managed to spark an interest in him and I would highly recommend Amanda to any parents or school who are looking to provide speech and language therapy for their child". "Thank you for helping me to find my voice". Mum writing from her daughter with autism
" I have worked with Amanda for the past three years during which time I have had the opportunity to observe her treating children and to gain a greater understanding of her work. She is unlike any other Speech and Language Therapist in that she is able to apply her additional training in psychology, Social Thinking and autism to her field of communication. The result is that she is able to facilitate enhanced learning in the children she works with. She is also a compassionate and dedicated therapist who reads extensively around her subject and I have learnt a great deal from working alongside her. I would have no hesitation in recommending her and I will continue to recommend her to my patients with communication issues." Suzie Ankers - Occupational Therapist
